Hello and welcome to the Montana City K-8 Music Program! I am Taryn Krantz, and I graduated from the University of Montana and University of Montana Western with a Bachelor of Music Performance and Music Education.
My love for music started in kindergarten when I began taking piano lessons, and only continued when I started band and choir in middle school - learning both saxophone and clarinet! Since then, my love for music has only grown through many chamber ensembles, jazz bands, wind ensembles, choral programs, and competitive solo work. I have taught many saxophone, clarinet, flute, and piano lessons, as well as in the music classroom from K-12 and college.
I love getting to know my students and sharing with them how music can be so impactful in many wonderful ways! I am always working to share all kinds of music, instruments, artists, and love to learn new music alongside my students.
If I'm not in my classroom, with my 8 siblings, or escaping to Seattle to spend time with my beautiful niece, you can find my husband Matthew and I hiking, exploring Helena, wandering around in Costco, or spending time with our adored dogs Diesel and Lua, as well as our cat, Toothless.
